The Channel Islands

As I have said before The Channel Islands hold a special place in my heart. I have been going there for exhibitions for over 20 years. The people are the friendliest folk you could wish to meet and I and my craft colleagues, ( They are more than colleagues, they have become close friends ) enjoy every moment on those islands. A group of us always stayed in the same hotels and lived in each other's pockets.

Richard, Jan and Ian

For 2 weeks Ian, Annie, Jan, Shiela, Richard, Sue, and Jenny would become such a part of my life that when the exhibition was over I would feel a sense of loss. They were great times but gradually our group became smaller as people dropped out. Danny who would marry Jenny joined us and Mal who is Jan's husband to be came for awhile, but now its only Annie, Jenny and Danny and myself carrying the flag. And depending on what happens this year it may be my last fair there, but I will always be there in spirit.

Corbiere in the Storm

The photograph shows Richard on the left, then Jan and Ian with Corbiere lighthouse in the background, and the print is one I painted of Corbiere in storm.
