The Eden Theatre Corner

The Eden Theatre was owned by the parents of Stan Laurel, of Laurel and Hardy fame. As the theatre years declined it became a cinema and eventually a bingo hall before being demolished to widen the road.

This painting is how I remember it as a cinema when there were queues to enter to see the latest Tommy Steele film or Davy Crockett.

‘Thank you very much for the print of The Eden Theatre today. It was great talking to you, wish I had longer to chat. I find your work wonderful and am really happy to talk to someone who enjoys recreating the local scenes.’ ~ Derek Siddle, Bishop Auckland
